OneFirst and Gwangju Metropolitan City Sign Agreement for AI 'Demonstration City Gwangju'

[Blockchain Today Reporter Jang Myeong-gwan] On the afternoon of the 29th, Gwangju City signed its 183rd through 189th business agreements with seven promising AI companies, including OneFirst, One4U, Pakkyeokpo, Taeyoung S&T, LabPharm, YYSoft, and SysforCare, at the City Hall Business Room.

The signing ceremony was attended by Mayor Kang Ki-jung, OneFirst CEO Ha Dae-soo, One4U CEO Jeon Dong-ho, Pakkyeokpo CEO Jeong Chang-yong, Taeyoung S&T CEO Kim Ki-young, LabPharm CTO Lee Yong-woo, YYSoft CEO Yang Hong-hyun, and SysforCare CEO Gong Seok-man.

The companies agreed to actively cooperate in creating the Gwangju AI ecosystem by pursuing technology development and commercialization in specialized AI fields through the establishment of corporations or regional offices. They also expressed their ambition to contribute to the creation of new jobs in the Gwangju region, including the training of specialized personnel.

The key terms of the agreement include: promoting technology development and commercialization, as well as providing technical and policy consulting, to foster an AI ecosystem in Gwangju; establishing a Gwangju corporation or regional office to cultivate talent in specialized AI fields and create jobs; developing and operating various corporate support programs and promoting companies to build an AI industry ecosystem; and planning and implementing training and employment programs for AI professionals.

Gwangju Mayor Kang Ki-jung emphasized, “I welcome you to Gwangju, which is equipped with the foundation for the growth of AI companies, encompassing infrastructure, talent, and demonstration capabilities.” He added, “I heard that one AI company settled in Gwangju benefited from receiving approximately 500 million won in annual support through the National AI Data Center. We have completed preparations to support around 1,000 AI companies this year. Let us nurture the dream of becoming successful AI companies together in Gwangju.”

OneFirst develops and sells contactless access and unmanned platforms. OneFirst has resolved issues such as the inconvenience of having to tap a card or enter a password every time one enters and exits, the high cost of building unmanned kiosk systems, and concerns about downtime due to frequent breakdowns, by utilizing smartphones integrated with Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT). When an AIoT-enabled smartphone is carried and approached, the entrance door opens automatically, and the company provides a 24-hour unmanned system construction service using cloud kiosks.

Recently, OneFirst has been receiving favorable reviews for supplying contactless access systems to the Gyeongbuk Provincial Police Agency, KORAIL, and Yonsei Severance Hospital. Police officers and doctors frequently pass through controlled entrances, but this entails the significant effort of having to take out and present their access cards or scan fingerprints every time.
